I would love to ask Kamala Harris these questions.  Bret Bair of Fox News tried a few of them. But Harris avoided straightforward answers. She needs to answer these.

1.  After being clear in 2019 that you opposed and would ban fracking, now you say you won’t.  Which person should Americans believe: the one in 2019 or the one now?

a.  Follow-up: You are losing support in Pennsylvania over your flip flops on the gun buy-back program, border security, and other issues where you have taken a clear-position and now changed. Why should people not believe you on your prior stated position on banning franking?

2.  You said recently that nothing came to mind when asked how you are different from President Joe Biden.  Yet before he was sidelined by your party, Biden was unpopular on inflation, the border, energy, and Afghanistan. If you can’t think of any differences between you and Biden, why shouldn’t Americans also believe you will continue with Biden’s policies despite your public statements now?

3.   The Biden-Harris Administration has repeatedly called the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in the summer of 2021 a “success.” By your own admission, you were “the last person in the situation room” that agreed with the President’s decision to oppose his military experts’ advice not to completely pull out. Americans witnessed the pandemonium and the deaths of 13 American service men and women. A large majority of Americans do not think it was a success but a failure. Why are they wrong and you are right?

a.   Follow-up: If you had it to do again, what would you do differently?

b.   Follow-up: Have you ever spoken to the families of the 13 soldiers who were killed at Abbey Gate doing what you called a successful mission?

4.  You recently announced a plan to appeal to Black men—a demographic that is not enthusiastic about you—to offer them loans while also legalizing marijuana.  You said black men are like everyone else.  If so, why are you proposing a specific plan for them and not all other people?  Why shouldn’t America see this as pandering to a group that seems ready to oppose you?

5.  In the past you have said you would support reparations for Blacks for slavery? Do you still support that?

a.  Follow-up: What about Blacks who came to the country after slavery was abolished.  Should they receive reparations too?

6.  President Biden directed you to deal with the illegal immigration issues we were facing.  You only went to the border weeks ago.  In poll after poll, Americans say they do not trust you on the border issues, particularly since you and President Biden lifted all of the Trump executive orders that in fact stemmed the tide of illegal crossings.  You say that Trump stopped the Border legislation last year. However, six Democrat Senators and all Republicans voted against the bill.  Were they wrong for agreeing with the Republicans?

a.  Follow-up: You say you will offer that same bill when you are elected.  What would you change in it to get those who oppose it to vote for it in the future?  Can you tell me the specific things you would change? For example, would you still allow 5,000 illegal entries per day?

7.  You have said that you will push for a bill that reestablishes Roe Vs. Wade as statute law.  That would require 60 votes in the Senate.  You say you will work to end the 60-vote filibuster to pass a bill. Do you really think you would have the votes to do that?

a.  Follow-up: You do not like the idea that each state will decide the best abortion laws for their states, laws that will be developed by their legislatures.  If it is fine for state legislatures to pass rational laws that limit gun rights, why shouldn’t they be able to pass rational limits to abortion?

8.  You have repeatedly said you support Israel in its war with Hamas and Hezbollah.  However, in recent months you’ve signaled support for Hamas protesters on American college campuses who are openly chanting antisemitic tropes and harassing Jewish students.  Why should American Jews vote for you?

9.  You say that Trump’s plan to impose tariffs on China is in fact a “national sales tax.”  Yet, since you and President Biden have been in office, you didn’t lift the tariffs Trump imposed in 2017 but kept them in place. Why shouldn’t Americans think that you are being hypocritical?

10.  You have said you will allow the Trump tax cuts to expire.  When you do, the taxes of many middle-class voters will rise dramatically.  Yet you say you will not raise taxes on middle class Americans. Why should they believe you?

Alas, she won’t answer. Honesty is beyond her.
